What about school?

School. How often do we overlook the enormity of something so close to us in a search for a topic that will inspire and create learning opportunities for our pupils?

School – Such a fabulous topic and one that can evoke such a variety of responses! Especially if you have children from other nations in your class.

It forms a common base to unite school and home; generations; teacher and pupil. Every child can draw from their own experiences and those of their parents and grandparents.

What is the same? What is different?
What is liked? What is disliked?

You can use so many thinking tools to question, evaluate, organise, analyse, create and gain a variety of insights.

The links below give some wonderful starters for reflection, discussion and other collaborative or intrapersonal exercises.

Teachers of older children might like to use this clip as a basis for discussion.
